5Color Helmet Recall
The CPSC has announced a recall for hte 5Color-branded children's bicycle helmet and pads sets, which consist of a pink helmet alongside matching knee and elbow pads. Specifically, only size small helmets designed to fit a head circumference of about 18 to 22 inches are affected. The impacted helmets feature black padding, black straps, and a black fit-adjusting knob at the back. Consumers can identify the recalled items by checking for Model No.: YD-001, Lot/Ref: YD-260320, and Date 2026/03/20, which are printed on a label on the inside of the helmet as well as on the product packaging. These sets were sold exclusively online at Amazon.com in May 2026 for between $25 and $26.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycle helmets and contact 5Color to secure a full refund for the entire set. To process the refund, users will be required to destroy the helmet by cutting its straps, take a photograph of the destroyed helmet, and email the picture to 5Color at FiveColorCS@163.com. Once the photo has been sent, the ruined helmet should be thrown away, though customers are permitted to keep the accompanying knee and elbow pads. For additional questions or assistance, 5Color can be reached toll-free or via email.
Neither 5Color nor the importing company have a public website that we could find.
