GUSTO Takes On Gravel Biking
Historically recognized for producing fast, competitive, and accessible carbon road racing machines like the Cobra EVO and Ranger, Taiwanese manufacturer Gusto has officially expanded its horizons off the asphalt. With the debut of the GTG, Gusto unveils its first purpose-built gravel bike platform. Designed to meet the demands of modern dirt racing, light bikepacking, and rough-surface exploration, the GTG bridges the gap between high-end carbon performance and practical versatility for off-road riders.
At the core of the GTG is an innovative carbon layup that incorporates American-made Innegra Latex Composite (ILC) fibers layered into high-modulus Japanese carbon. This hybrid material integration is specifically tuned to absorb high-frequency trail vibrations and chatter, significantly reducing rider fatigue over long miles on unpaved roads without sacrificing torsional frame stiffness under hard acceleration. The frame is built around modern standards, featuring a universal derailleur hanger dropout interface for seamless compatibility with latest-generation drivetrain setups, sleek fully internal cable routing, and generous frame clearance capable of accommodating up to 50mm tires.
Complementing the chassis is a gravel-focused endurance geometry paired with Gusto’s new integrated G1 G-Flare carbon handlebar setup. By utilizing a higher stack, shorter reach, and a 15-degree flare in the drops, the GTG provides an upright, confident riding position that improves control on loose descents while maintaining an aerodynamic profile for high-speed flat sectors. The tight rear triangle and 425mm chainstays ensure the bike retains the snappy, responsive handling characteristic of Gusto's road heritage, making it an agile option whether negotiating technical singletrack or accelerating out of loose gravel corners.
The launch of the GTG marks a significant milestone for Gusto as it diversifies its competitive lineup to meet the booming global demand for off-road drop-bar bikes. Available across several electronic and mechanical 1x and 2x build configurations—including Shimano GRX setups—the GTG offers gravel enthusiasts a lightweight, vibration-dampened package that delivers premium performance without the exorbitant boutique price tag.
